Event Summary

Have you ever wondered how biotech startups get their funding or how they identify monetization strategies for their products? Have you heard of investment banks but unsure how they decide which project to fund? This workshop will focus on the role of investment banks and venture capital groups in getting scientific research funded and out in the public.

Dr. Evelyn Pau will shed light on internal processes in investment banking, walk you through key steps in project evaluations, and give you a taste of what you might have to do as an analyst in an investment banking industry for life sciences. Attendees will learn skills and resources to perform an opportunity assessment by conducting scientific, medical, and clinical due diligence, market overview and sizing, competitive landscape, and other topics to better understand the business case. Attendees will conduct an assignment on Day 1 and share findings on Day 2.
